New Moon (NM) in Pisces, Revati nakshatra is a trippy one for many reasons. Pisces is the last zodiac sign where you are being taught the lessons of detachment, surrender & letting go. Everything you have worked for on earth will be left behind. You only get to take the unresolved karmic imprints with you, which makes integrating this NM’s energy a bit more interesting. Most of you reading this are not on your death bed but are knowingly & unknowingly in the cycle of creating (a life you want) & letting go (of a life that does not serve you anymore) – many-a-times this energy manifests as just turning away from a life that’s not to your liking & plunging into Netflix, alcohol, sugar, friends, partying, drugs, sex etc. To top it all, Pushan, the deity of Revati is the shepherd – like Christ, who leads you thro’ your confusion to your next destination. This requires a great deal of faith & surrender. How does one just let the unknown guide us? Isn’t that just giving our power away? I’m sure some of you might have these questions. The answers to these fundamental questions is exemplified in the life of Lord Ram. Ram was born the heir to the throne of Ayodhya in ancient India yet was sent in exile, had his wife abducted & had to fight off the ferocious kingdom of Lanka. His seemingly opulent life was full of personal & political challenges to the extent that Ram’s actions come under scrutiny to this day. Yet Ram exemplified greatness; greatness in his conduct, faith & dharma. He had to juggle life’s many challenging details but was always connected to that unknown force. In fact, he was the embodiment of the unknown, mysterious force – force that baffles all of us. Lord Ram’s incarnation showed us how we in our human flesh & bones can manage the density of life’s tasks (Virgo, the opposing sign) by simply relaxing into the greater unknown (Piscean & Revati themes). Easier said than done. NM also is rikta = empty; where you are urged to purge your mind (emotions/thoughts/desires) into the whole unifying consciousness

.

Once you have taken the time to purge on this NM, a new cycle of creation begins with Navratri (9 nights of Goddess) on the 1st tithi (April 2nd this year). I’m sure by now you can appreciate that Vasant (spring) Navrati starting right after Piscean NM, culminates into Ram Navami, Lord Ram’s birthday. Full Moon following Ram Navami is Hanuman Jayanti, Lord Hanuman’s birthday who again exemplifies divinity in the flesh of an Earthling. I have extensively written about Navratri celebrations in the past & would be happy to discuss it with those who wish to know more – drop me a line

.

Since it is spring & we are presented with so many energetic conformations to work with, between now & the coming full moon practice creating from a place of letting go. Meaning, clear your space, declutter, let go of dysfunctional habits & people/relationships & decondition from age-old patterns in order to create a void. From that void, the new emerges

.
